Parents/Guardians,
To clarify for you, there have been 2 different requests for information from our parents. Item #1 below is the 'School to Home' communication. Item #2 is the 'School Day' information. Each item is described briefly below. We are asking that parents please complete the information ASAP. If you require any help, please call the school and either Mrs. Barks or I can help you through the process.

Item #1 - SMCDSB is in the process of procuring a notification tool which would be integrated with our Student Information System to communicate more efficiently and effectively with families.
With a new provincial mandate for education and to help facilitate this process we must have up-to-date “School to Home” (email address and cell phone number) contact information for all our families.
To help make this process as streamlined as possible, here is a School-to-Home Communication Google Form which we are asking for our families to complete. The form requires the parent/guardian to include the child’s email address; most if not all children will know their email, however our younger students (JK-Gr.1) likely won't. In this case, you may call the school and either Ms. Toth or Mrs. Barks can help you out.
Subsequently, those parents/guardians who do not have electronic access to the form, will need to manually complete the information using the School-to-Home Communication Paper Form and return it to the school. Print the form to complete or visit the school office where hard copies of this manual form are available.
We greatly appreciate your assistance in helping to gather this important contact information. This initial work up-front will create significant efficiencies in terms of how we communicate with our St. Nicholas families on a go-forward basis.
Item #2 - On Friday, March 29th we sent out information on our new School-Day online portal. In this letter was your child’s own unique Secure-Match Key. This will allow you to add your child(ren) to the account you created. You will then receive Field Trip Notices and other notices. We have approximately 25% of our students currently registered. On Monday, we sent out a Field Trip Notice via School-Day for JK to Grade 4. For these parents, in particular, we would ask that you sign up for School-Day so that you will receive the Field Trip Information and allow your child to participate by using your online signature, as well as make the payment due. JK to Grade 4 students, once you have signed up, please check your junk mail if you did not receive the email regarding the upcoming field trip. Remember to turn enable email notifications in your settings when signing up!
Remember, all families who register for 'School Day' by April 12th will receive a ballot into the draw for a $50.00 Wal-Mart card!
