Class reorganization at St. Nicholas
Published on Sep 14, 2017 15:54

Dear Parents/Guardians:

There have been a significant number of students who have registered at St. Nicholas for the 2017-2018 school year and hence a number of classes are larger than the Ministry standard and need to be reduced in size. As a result, we are required to reorganize many classes in all divisions to meet Ministry approved class sizes. This is a positive move as our classes will have fewer sutdents and will allow for more individual attention for our students.

As a result of the school’s reorganization, approximately 53 children in the school will be changing classrooms or will have a new teacher. Letters have been sent home tonight with the students who are impacted. The changes will be implemented Friday, Sept. 15 in the afternoon. Students will begin in their new rooms on Monday, Sept. 18.

One teacher position has been created. At this time, I am preparing to find out who the new teacher will be, as there is a process in regards to transfers, surplus or new hires.  In the meanwhile, an itinerant teacher will be in place.

We appreciate your understanding as we make these necessary changes.

Thank you.
