Parking Lot Closure and changes!!
Published on Jan 10, 2017 16:39

Thank you to all parents/guardians for your patience as we work through making the parking lot and navigating it a SAFER experience!  I sent out an e-blast January 7th with a detailed document attachment.  As you all know, you must try a plan under a controlled, safe environment to determine if there are any changes to make it better, in this case hopefully safer.
We are going to switch the exits in the afternoon for walkers and bussers.
Please check the following:
Mrs. Blacquiere, Mrs. Hussey, Mr. Martel, Mme Greene, Mrs. Thompson, Ms. Torrance and Mrs Raposo - WALKERS will ALL head up the centre staircase and exit through the front door.  The BUSSERS will head out their respective recess doors, up the pathway on the south end and to the busses.
Mrs. Keery, Ms. Palombi - WALKERS will head out the front doors. The BUSSERS will head out the Kindergarten doors to the busses.
Mrs. Kellachan and Mrs. Quinto - WALKERS and BUSSERS will head out the kindergarten doors
NOTE:  The parking lot will be closed down 8:30am - 9:00am and 3:15pm to 3:45pm.  We ask that you abide by these times for the children's safety.  Please do not enter the lot.
BUSSERS - We are moving the bus down further (south) in the parking lot to accommodate the bussers entering the schoolyard in the morning; and exiting up the pathway in the evening.
WALKERS - As the parking lot is closed, we are going to have them cross the open area of the entrance both in the morning and afternoon.
CARS - Any cars within the parking lot must stay until the lot opens again, or better yet, please park on the road.  We cannot have moving cars in the lot.  In the afternoon, please know you will be blocked in by the busses.
We sincerely hope that these changes help with having pedestrians, and exiting vehicles, not accumulating in the south end exit as they did on Monday. Again, your views are always welcome, but know we want to keep the children safe and wish a positive dialogue with our school community.  Modelling continues to be the best teacher......and we often need to try something more than once to make it better....not perfect!
Thank you for your patience and continued support!
